All I gotta say is I am so glad all the books in this series are done or I would be losing my shit right now.
I don't want to get too spoilery, but this book picks up where we left off at the end of the first book. Some things are cleared up fairly quickly and we resume the everyday struggle it is for Serenity and Montes to survive. Serenity seems to be quite the target for attacks and I was completely riveted the entire time I was reading this book. A part of me wants to say 'fuck it'...more

I really enjoyed the first book in this series but after the 25% mark in this one, I got bored, it was just the same thing over and over, so I started skimming, picked up reading fully at about 75%. Have you read The Hunger Games? Can you imagine a grittier, more passionate, darker version of Twilight without supernatural elements? Okay. How about a more grownup, realer Divergent written in an even more gorgeous way that's just full-on believable in all of its messed-up beautifully star-crossed complexity? Yes. YES!!!!!!!! This is IT!!!!!!

Serenity wakes up and doesn't remember a thing, doesn't know who she is or why she is a prisoner. She only understands that she has to escape. The King finds her and takes her with him. He also 'gives' her, her memory back. She has been attacked at least a couple of times after her return to the King. That implies that the traitor can be anyone.
